B’ZEOS at The Gap in Between: Designing the Future Through Seaweed Innovation

ree

At the end of October, Valencia became the perfect place to pause, reflect, and rethink how we design for the future. As part of The Gap in Between, a leading event focused on creativity, sustainable design, and material innovation, B’ZEOS had the chance to showcase how seaweed-based materials can reshape the world of sustainable packaging.

Representing our team, Mert, our Business Development Manager, took the stage to share how B’ZEOS transforms seaweed into circular packaging solutions offering a natural, compostable, and scalable alternative to traditional plastics. Joined by Juline Grandjean, our Process Engineer, the team presented several of our latest seaweed packaging prototypes, giving attendees a close look at the future of bio-based materials and eco-friendly packaging.

The event brought together an inspiring community of design thinkers, biomaterials researchers, packaging innovators, and circular economy experts, all exploring new ways to create materials that are both functional and planet-friendly.The conversations were bold, curious, and fuelled by a shared belief that biomaterials and ocean-based materials will play a central role in building a more sustainable future.

For B’ZEOS, The Gap in Between reinforced something we deeply believe: true packaging innovation happens in the space between creativity, science, and collaboration.

We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by to discuss the future of bioplastic alternatives, ask thoughtful questions, and share insights on how the industry can transition toward low-impact, compostable, and circular packaging solutions. Events like this remind us just how much momentum is building around seaweed innovation and the broader bioeconomy.

Thank you, Valencia, and thank you to The Gap in Between community for creating such an engaging space for dialogue, experimentation, and collective progress. We’re excited to carry this energy forward as we continue advancing the next generation of sustainable, seaweed-based packaging.
